Two IELTS test takers (thanks, G and M!) shared these details about their exams which were the same in Saudi Arabia and Turkey:

Listening testIELTS test in Saudi Arabia

Section 1. Someone was applying for a part time job.

Section 2. A student was talking about the requirements for a presentation.

Section 3. Don’t remember.

Section 4. A lecture about underground structures, their history and features.

Reading test

Passage 1. Don’t remember.

Passage 2. About renewable energy sources.
Questions: True/False/Not Given.

Passage 3. About honeybees.
Questions: multiple choice, match headings to paragraphs, sentence completion.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a bar graph showing the spending in millions of dollars in five types of retail stores in Australia in March 2009 and March 2011.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

University students must pay all costs associated with their education, because it benefits mostly them individually, rather than the society as a whole. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion.

Speaking test

Interview

- What is your full name?

- Do you work or study?
- Are you a morning or an afternoon person?
- What is your favourite wild animal? Why?
- Do you like watching animals in zoos?

We had to compare the data. Writing task 2 (an essay) A recent study showed that both developed and developing countries prosper because of the economic growth. People from developing countries are happier than before while people from developed countries are not as happy as they were in the past. Why is this happening? How can this situation be improved?
