Section 2. About the procedure of building approval, including electricity, water and so on.

Reading test

Passage 1. About work-related claims, holiday pay, recruitment agency jobs and temporary/casual labourers’ minimum wages in the UK.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Passage 2. About railways and conventional trains in China.
Questions: filling in blanks, True/False/Not Given.

Passage 3, 4. Don't remember.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You are going to have a family party in a private room of a hotel. Write a letter to the hotel manager and say

- Why do you need to use this private room?
- What do you need them to provide for the party?
- Inquire about the price of the food you are ordering.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Some say that due to heavy traffic governments need to build more roads in metropolitan cities, while others argue this isn’t the right solution. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your reasons and examples.

Cue Card

Talk about a recently purchased gadget. Describe the product and say

Discussion

- Did you face any problems with this product?
- What have you done about it?
- How was your interaction with the customer service?
- Lets discuss recycling.
- Do you like to purchase things in large shopping malls?
- Is it necessary to recycle plastic items? Why?
- What will happen if plastic is not recycled properly?
