Two IELTS test takers H and E remembered the following information about their recent exams. They didn’t recall the topics in the Listening or the Reading sub tests, but apparently the Writing questions were the same in the two exams.

Writing Task 1 (a letter)

You are planning a party for your colleagues from work. Write a letter to them and say

- Why and when did you arrange the party?
- What activities have you arranged for the party?
- Explain how to get to your place.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Some people think that students at school need to learn practical skills such as repairing a car or maintaining a bank account, in addition to traditional academic subjects. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion and support it with examples.

Speaking test 1

Interview

- What is your full name?
- Can I see your ID?
- Where are you from?
- Do you work or study?
- Where do you live now?
- Tell me about your neighbours.
- Do you think this place is good for families with children? Why?
- Do you use maps?
- What is the difference between electronic and paper maps?
- How did you learn to use maps?
- What is the best time for reading, morning or evening? Why?
- Do you like to study in a quiet or crowded room?
- How can you keep your concentration when studying for a long time?

Cue Card

Discuss an instance when you shared information with someone. Please say

- With whom did you share it?
- What information did you share?
- How did you feel after that?

Discussion

- What do you know about data privacy?
- Do you think sharing it over the Internet is good?
- Why do researchers share information online?

Speaking test 2

Interview

- What is your full name?
- Can I see your ID?
- Where are you from?
- Do you work or study?
- What do you do for work?
- Do you like the summer or winter season?
- How is the weather in your country?

Cue Card

Describe something you do to keep yourself healthy. Please say

- What activity is it?
- When do you usually do it?
- How often do you do it?

Discussion

- Why do you think it’s a good way to look after your health?
