The IELTS test taker C from Korea shared the following information about a recent exam:

Listening testIELTS test in Korea

Section 1. A phone call to reserve some tickets for an event.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Section 2. Description of a map and the location of different buildings in the area.

Section 3. A talk about research on different kinds of pigeons and their behavior.
Questions: multiple choice, match facts to paragraphs.

Section 4. About male and female personnel in workplaces, their preferences in work and working environment.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Reading test

Passage 1. About women’s maternity leave, holiday payments and salary.

Passage 2. About admissions to a college.

Passage 3. A step by step process for filling a Police check application and getting a Police inspection certificate.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Passage 4. About a popular musical band in Norway.
Questions: filling in blanks, multiple choice, True/False/Not Given.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)

Write an application letter asking to delay the essay submission in a course you’re taking.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Nowadays cultures of different countries are becoming more similar than they used to be. What are the reasons? Is it a positive or a negative development? Give your own opinion and examples.

We had to compare the data. Writing task 2 (an essay) A recent study showed that both developed and developing countries prosper because of the economic growth.
