Writing testIELTS test in Australia

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You saw an advertisement requiring volunteers for an organisation that helps children. Write a letter and offer to volunteer part time. Include the following in your letter:

- Why are you applying for this position?
- What makes you suitable for it?
- When will you be available?

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Some people believe that computers help to make the world a better place. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion.

- What subject did you study?
- Do you like to write emails?
- Do you prefer to receive a phone call or an email?
- What type of emails do you receive mostly?

Candidates will be able to register and pay for their test from late March 2015. As this test is brand new and has been just announced one day ago, there isn’t much information available yet. We had to compare the data. Writing task 2 (an essay) A recent study showed that both developed and developing countries prosper because of the economic growth. People from developing countries are happier than before while people from developed countries are not as happy as they were in the past. Why is this happening? How can this situation be improved?
